Quebec Health Minister Yves Bolduc announced Tuesday that fertility treatments for couples will be covered by Medicare as of Aug. 5, making Quebec the first jurisdiction in North America to provide free in-vitro fertilization treatments.
I like the idea on its good and helpful intention. However with the state of health care is this the best way to divert money already lacking in other areas of it? Not to mention in Quebec where health care is already the worst in the country? My minds not made up on this one just yet.
And how many times will they pay for this treatment per person? Until the woman is pregnant? I predict that their true costs will balloon well past the estimated costs.

And now, it will take 15 years on a waiting list to have an in-vitro baby. Thanks nanny state !
