A British military search and rescue helicopter made a dangerous long-distance flight over the North Atlantic on Wednesday to provide urgent medical transport to a Canadian navy sailor injured at sea.
"EyeBrock" said If you read the article it says that the frigates are mid refit for the Cyclones and the hangars are currently U/S.
Don't refits take place in a dock?
EDIT: NVM, I get it.
I do find it rather "stupid" to have a ship refit for a helicopter we do not yet have rendering it unable to carry the aircraft we do have in inventory.
My POV is we should have had a helicopter onboard to carry the sailor, if not to shore to another ship.
Why was one not aboard? None available? All in pieces? Not enough duct tape?
