It's not such a HUGE stretch to surmise that there is intelligent life out there that far surpasses our own in their level of technology. It's not strange thing to surmise that their is intelligent life out there that that is still in some stage of development like a stone age or a medieval age or their version of an industrial age.

The whole universe is so damn vast and the fact that at least in our own galaxy the most stable stars for life like our own Sun are the majority of stars (the last time I checked, new things could have been discovered since then...) in the Milky Way Galaxy bodes well for the possiblility of life out there.

And I wouldn't doubt that there is life out there that is so advanced as to appear to us a Gods or like Neo or Morpheus out of the Matrix. The possibilities are endless for life. The probability that intelligent life out there is so rare and so spread out that it would be almost impossible to impossible for first contact to happen is becoming increasingly dim.

What I get a small kick out of is that most of the major religions out there have had conferences and discussions amongst their leaders and followers alike as to how to treat alien life and even if it's worth the trouble of trying to convert them or not.

We are on the cusp of a new day folks. It is a good day to be alive. (intro Classic Trek music, assume Kirk stance and look to the sky as the camera fades off of me...)

Does a UFO necessarily have to be an extraterrestrial???????????????????

no. just an unidentified fly object. For instance, upon its introduction the B-2 would have been regarded as a UFO by enemy forces, if they somehow managed to spot the thing. the notion that it is extra-terrestrial comes from the fact that it is big, black, bat-shaped, and doesn't appear on radar. ;)

Can someone send this guy a note and ask him not to feed the Trolls?

The conspiracy whack-jobs will next be saying 9/11 was caused by Japanese flying saucers.

So you think there is nothing to a high ranking Japanese Government official reporting that yes, UFO's do exist? How about Paul Hellyer? Do you not believe in the existence of UFO's or extraterrestrials on the basis of sound science, personal belief (both of which you are more than entitled to)?

Or is it the "giggle-factor" influencing you Bart? That the moment you admit to the possibility of or existence of aliens that people will suddenly start to not take you seriously? Or politely nod their head and call you a "wack-job" when you're out of ear-shot?

Logically, given enough time, the mounting bona-fide scientific evidence as well as the thousands of photos and first hand accounts from wack-jobs will prove otherwise. But that is just my opinion. What's yours Bart?

If there are UFO's from other worlds, I hope they are at least smart enough to stay away from this fucked up planet.

And there are plenty more field manuals for various government organizations that have sections in them like this...

Chapter 13 of FIRE OFFICER'S GUIDE TO DISASTER
CONTROL, by William M. Kramer & Charles W. Bahme. Published by Fire
Engineering Books a& Videos, Park 80 West, Plaza Two, 7th Floor,
    Saddle Brook, NJ 07662.

CHAPTER 13: ENEMY ATTACK AND UFO POTENTIAL

I guess what I'm saying is the "circumstantial" evidence is all around us. The hard science basically points to the very high possibility of alien life and logic tells us that in a universe as vast and as complex as the one we live in we can't possibly be the only ones.

I respect those who believe otherwise but then I'd invite them to look at the real proof, not just what some quack might say without proof but what some very qualified, very experianced and very real people have come forward with.

That being said I still advocate a hightened degree of defensive readiness be exercised around your anus-region when traveling down lonely, deserted country roads...
