With the help of local musicians and many contributors, Rockin the Bush was spearheaded to focus on showcasing local original talent. This festival has one goal in mind, to network with other local musicians, help them in any way possible in promoting their own music, while at the same time, donating any proceeds to local charities, such as Big Brothers and Big sisters.

An inspiration for this festival was derived from recent band “contests” which featured many of the same bands that will be performing at this years’ Rockin the Bush. These previous contests focused more on the “competitive” side of the music business, but really overlooked what was most important, the music. “Music is not about competition” says one local musician. “It’s about entertainment”. This is what Rockin the Bush is all about.

There has been an overwhelming offer of support from numerous community organizations and individuals for Rockin the Bush. Music stores, security teams, power generator companies, print agencies, local media coverage, have all come forth to lend a hand in any way possible. Many local residents have been noted, as saying this is the type of event that has been needed for way too long now. The staff and organizers of Rockin the Bush simply cannot believe the generosity of the community thus far. Weekly meetings have been held locally, and attendance from band members and other contributors have shown high attendance. Every week someone new is attending the meetings offering yet new services, free of charge.

Rockin the Bush 2003, will take place Labour Day weekend, Friday and Saturday August 29th and 30th in Bothwell Ontario. Full details, directions, schedules etc can be found online at

Currently, over 10 bands are scheduled to perform, as well as various other fun activities are scheduled to take place. Events commence Friday evening at 9pm. Doors open at 6pm. Camping is provided with admission. Advance tickets are $25.00, and available at the door for $30.00

Organizers of Rockin the Bush 2003 would like to cordially thank everyone who has offered assistance so far, and still welcome any other form of charitable donations, assistance from the community. “We are still looking for any extra people that would be willing to donate their time or to help assist with the numerous tasks at hand for this Festival”. Anyone wishing to come forth can email
