One thing people are forgetting is that the funding for political parties was enacted by Jean Cretien AFTER he had his 3rd majority. Until this time parties were responsible for their own funding. Chretien was allowed to (and did) spend as much money as he wanted during a campaign. This policy only ... |

Arar went back to Syria and retained Syrian citizenship. Is this reason enough to say to hell with him? He is a Canadian citizen too. I am from Nova Scotia but live in BC. I go back to visit from time to time. The only difference is that my visits are within Canada. I went back to visit friends, fam... |

What blows my mind is how the man is even allowed to run for office after having been an Indonesian citizen. Even if he himself did not choose to become one, he did by virtue of his mother marrying an Indonesian citizen and being claimed by the step-father as being his son. The 1930 Hague treaty st... |

It's just past 11am (Pacific) on Friday the 19th and I'm watching CBC Newsworld. Jack Layton was just railing Stephen Harper for not having any leadership qualities and that the government should put a meat inspector into every meat plant in Canada. When a reporter asks Mr. Layton how many inspector... |

Environment Canada is calling for a colder winter than Canada has experienced in years. See this link for a report. http://www.edmontonsun.com/News/Alberta/2007/12/01/4699858-sun.html There are lots of reports on the net, just check google news for more if you want. Stephane Dion caused his own problems (AGAIN!). Why did he even say he would consider reversing this latest GST reduction when pressed by reporters? If he just said no he wouldn't do that, then there would be no claim in any Conservative advertisement. Dion is unwittingly the Conservatives best ally... |

From what I read in the article, people who've been there love the place but do admit it's too far from Dublin and expensive to maintain. Seems like a no brainer to unload it and move the ambassador to a location a little closer to town. Any talk of "oh we have a surplus, why this?" is non... |

We need a new banner "now on tap: Liberal Kool-Aid." It comes in 9 exciting flavours. Now your Conservative kool-aid comes in just the same old corrupt flavour every year. What does that mean???? That you never know what you're getting when you vote Liberal? Take the partisan shots out of... |

Skip Edmonton if at all possible. It's really a dusty hellhole of a city. Calgary is much nicer. Though in my opinion the 2 best cities in Canada are Vancouver and Halifax. Montreal is also really nice but can be challenging to find work if you don't speak French. If new to Canada I'd recommend goi... |

New to the city of Edmonton and drove down to see the Eskimos vs Lions preseason game. Just wondering if anyone but me thinks it's strange to build a 60,000+ seat stadium with only 800 parking spots? Is it just me or is this really stupid? |

What exactly have the Atlantic provinces mismanaged ? Coal ? Fisheries ? Canada's resources belong to Canada, not the provinces. You give any province billions of dollers in oil, and it will be very difficult to"mismanage." I would like to see proof of this so-called mismanagement before ... |

I've been following the gripes of Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland regarding equalization in the news. From what I have read, the new caps on equalization only come into effect when a "have not" province reaches the level of the poorest "have province". I don't see what... |

How do you search forums? I was using the search at the top of the screen but this seems to be a general search for the site. Is there one for the forum specifically? |

The Prime Minister has a stylist... big deal! Isn't it a good idea for the PM of our country to look their best when on camera, giving a speech or meeting world leaders, etc? I actually would be more surprised to find out he doesn't have a stylist. This is a non-issue. |
