I'm an army reservist here in Saskatoon, and I'm going to law school right now; so far no conflicts. School comes first, but you have to be committed -- that's what they're looking for. It's not just another part time job, as they say. Depending on where you are, it may take a while to get the ball ... |

ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog: What we call Christianity today is a long from, and is largely unrecognizable, from its Judaic roots. Jewish Monotheism has been replaced by a quasi-polytheism, thanks largely to the early Greek and Roman influences.
Oh, boy. Talk about stirring the pot. |

I would have to agree with him, what's the point in going this far if we don't commit to it fully. If the Afghan Government told us to leave, than I am all for leaving. However just because a few citizens become war complainers is no reason to ditch with our effort's in the dust. No matter what the... |

Good point. I certainly hope not. The Bloc promised to support the coalition on confidence motions until 2010. If they're willing to stand by their promise, then I see no problem. After that, let's have an election. Either way, it'll be interesting. |

...strategically it's not a mantle the liberal party wants to don for long as they will alienate a lot of the support they enjoy from the voters who decide between the liberals and the Conservatives. This merge will make them decidedly on the left instead of centre left. That's exactly it. I'm a ce... |

Caelon Caelon: I do not think if there was a referendum that it would pass, but I also think the percentage in favour would be greater than 30%. We can sit back and say it would never happen. Or we could recognize there is a problem and be proactive in diminishing the sentiment.
Well said. I agree completely. |

I've thought the same thing over the last few days. I doubt it would happen, but it would be great -- finally back to the good ol' days of majority governments and stability. More likely is that, if they form government, there'll be some sort of deal next election whereby New Democrats and Liberals ... |

But would FPTP be the way voting would go? It's a whole new nation. Perhaps not... but I doubt that there'd be much will in Saskatchewan or Alberta for PR or anything else. It's just not a big issue. Both provinces have fairly stable two-party systems. BC on the other hand... they've already toyed ... |

Given the greatest percentage of Green Party voters were in Alberta, if the west did separate, they might actually have a valid party within the new nation. Interesting suggestion. But Green support is very thinly spread out. FPTP tends to reward parties with regional concentration over broad suppo... |
