Trev, What is Win x64 like? I was going to load that up on my new desktop, but I haven't heard much good about it. I heard that it's not really being used to it's max. Would it be a plus for me to install, or should I wait for the new Vista? Opps I should tell you what I have for a machine. Athlon64...

TOW has been completely removed from the infantry units. At least it was when I was with 2PPCLI a couple of years a go. Their anti-tank capability has been given to the Eryx guys. Which were imbedded right into the rifle companys. All TOW and the 81mm mortars were sent out. Combat Support Company co...

Is that when the CO told his troops to take off the UN beret and put on their regular beret because they were going to war? I remember my uncle or father telling me that. Something along those lines anyway. My uncle was RCR for 32 years.

Idiots fucking idiots. They have a right to do this but last time I checked Aristide came to power in Haiti through fraud not through true democracy. Last time I checked Afghanistan under Taliban rule was not only brutal to it's citizens but sponsored terrorism. Canadians in Iraq are volunteers or ...

I'd rather get beat 12-0 by a team that's playing their best then 6-0 by a team just fooling around with the puck. The Canadian girls team is ranked number one in the world for a reason.....these other teams know it too. They use it as a learning experience. They're playing for home ice advantage in...

true about the C-17. to bad we won't go for a C-5 though. much higher capacity. higher capacity is why i went for the An-124. They are awesome, but as the production line closed over a decade ago, we'd have to buy used ones from the US. That and the fact that we only have one or two airstrips that ...

This is suppose to be part of the new three lines of anti-tank defense that the CDS is going for. The MGS, the TUA, and the new MMEV. All on the LAVIII chassis. From what I've heard the CDS wanted to get rid of the different cap badges and make one cap badge for this new Regt. I'm with 4AD in Gageto...

No. Caseless ammo is usually a hard powder packed around the bullet with a small primer cap on the end. That way there's no empty casing to eject. Here's a couple of sites to help show you what I'm talking about. http://remtek.com/arms/hk/mil/g11/caseless.htm http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/arms/Trends...

The XM8 is not using caseless ammo. Right now it is chambered for 5.56x45mm NATO standard ammo. From what I've read about the new rifle is they don't plan on using caseless ammo....too many problems with it.

Ok so the last two years I've used the new ranges here in Gagetown. I guess your right 2Cdo that not everybody would be using them. They do make people more honest though and does show soldiers lack of ability to shoot properly. I'm attached to 4AD right now and watching some of these guys shoot is ...

Derby, overall the training is amongst some of the best in the world. Our soldiers for the most part are extremely resourceful, professional, and intelligent. It's just that our marksmanship, for most not all, is absolutely pathetic. Our weapons test is laughable, and still more than enough cannot ...

I heard that it was to take some of the workload off of JTF2 and keep them for the role they were intended for which was counter-terrorism. So now instead of sending the JTF somewhere they have this new Regt to send.

I agree with you 100%. That what I was trying to get across. What I was trying to say was that as a technician we have let things slide to the point where a lot of us are not able to jump in that Bison and go out on a MRT call without really putting either themselves or someone else in danger. Depen...

You make some good points SprCForr, but as you stated yourself the role of long dutration fighting is not part of the new "Three Block War". Our role has changed dramatically in the past 10 years. In part we are not the fighting soldiers that we shoudl be, but a police force to be used by NATO or th...
