The only change I could see happening worldwide with time would be the metrication of it. However even then most people would probably find it far too overwhelming to accept. |

Of course there's an argument for socialism - currently we employ a litany of Marxist measures in the West: 1. Progressive taxation 2. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state by means of a central bank 3. Centralization of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the Stat... |

And yet, Canada currently employs countless elements of ideological socialism in our economy. There is no argument in favour of socialism. No one has ever argued successfully that socialism is a better system (I use that word very loosely) than that of private ownership controlling the means of pro... |

The idea of a two-tiered system is like those who have dreamt up the idea of a mixed economy. It cannot exist because you either are in favour of individuals being in a position to be able to chose their own way of life or the slave who must do what his superior orders him to do. What you are propos... |

Socialism is unrealisable as an economic system because a socialist society would not have any possibility of resorting to economic calculation. This is why it cannot be considered as a system of society’s economic organisation. It is a means to disintegrate social cooperation and to bring about pov... |

There is a difference between free trade and free trade agreements. Some people use the terms interchangeably but they should not be confused with one another. NAFTA is not free trade. NAFTA is an agreement on managed trade and its primary goal is to look out for certain interest groups and parties.... |

So the problem isn't that Canada is being overly protective at all - it's that the US is protecting its own interests by curbing foreign competition... Well the government screwed up and if it was really that concerned about handing contracts to a private firm they should have made sure the informa... |

I was the one who made the original comment, but as I pointed out, I wasn't serious - I don't think any party ideals have been comprimised, since it's every party's priority to do what's best for Canada. I think the government should reap what it sowed when it decided to hand out donations to priva... |

How can you be too poor to participate in international trade? If you got a resource of value, you open markets from other countries to it, then money will poor in. Look at Saudi Arabia. Some countries are just not blessed with much to trade. Only problem would be affording a port, and storage syst... |

The only hypocracy is coming from the right. Anti-gov't intervention in the free market has been betrayed by Harper. His own party members are saying it yet all you see in your jihad against the Liberals and the left is what......? We didn't betray our ideals. It seems you did. When did any politic... |

Secondly, we should be skeptical of any further economic integration with the US in the form of free trade agreements, especially ones that include access to our natural resources. Thirdly, we should increase immigration allowances for highly skilled, educated Americans seeking a better life in Can... |

When people begin to move towards that then the market will adjust itself to the consumers demands. Fuel technology has improved ... |

There also would be almost no gun deaths if nobody had guns, and only law enforcement had them. Who says those sworn to protect you really are? Just because you wear a badge does not make you any less of a crook than the person with a ski mask. I would encourage all people to take proper training a... |
