Ottawa to negotiate extradition treaty with China

Here is the answer of what China gets out of the release of the Canadian prisoner: access to any Chinese citizen who is fleeing China for "freedom".

We need TPP in order to access further markets. In return, Canada will spread hatred and interest in a union at foreign corporations. There needs to be more recourse for such actions. The TPP might solve this to some degree where NAFTA hasn't.

As has been written by business experts recently, foreign business investment is dwindling in Canada anyways, even with an extremely low dollar and record low tax jurisdictions in the soon to be insolvent Ontario. We aren't able to increase rates because the government is desperate for anyone to take borrowing risks, to the point we are the most indebted consumer base in the world, with still little descretionary income.

Bottom line, once the housing bubble bursts U.S and European companies can swoop in and get some businesses on the cheap (where there might be a few worse taking a gamble on). They can then wisely fire the current management and replace with a more robust workforce that is focused on success and not politics.

If you lived in Canada you would be salivating over the prospect of this deal. Furthermore; even as an American you better understand one extremely important function of this deal, it puts China at a disadvantage when trading with 40% of the worlds economy, including Japan which is a regional adversary. China is the one nation America needs to contain if we want the world to remain free and vibrant, they also present a legitimate military threat and sponsor states that will do harm if they don't.

It might not be perfect, but if you consider the alternatives, this is a vital agreement. It's the way the world is going. Globalization will go through stages of tweaking, but competition is one of lifes great pleasures.

We dont need the TPP. All this will do is allow for companies to relocate and take good jobs from Canadian's. As Bart said, fuck the TPP.

Only if the assumption is that a trade deficit is inherently bad. That is a poor assumption to make.

Yes and no. The US has seen substantial job growth since the signing of NAFTA, but is it the type of job growth that was best for the individual? Well, that all depends.

Just as a note, the US has off-shored the most to countries that they do not have a free trade agreement with.
