One of the big changes Microsoft introduced in Windows 10 was mandatory updates. Its easy to see why the software giant believed this was a good idea -- reducing the number of unpatched systems is great news for everyone -- but it does mean when a bad up

Well, so long as it's just Solitare and not Minesweepeer. Things could get ugly there!

Yep - one of the updates causes your W7 computer to try to boot in UEFI. You have to go to your BIOS and set it back to 'other OS' to make the fool thing work.

Not on any of the old POSs I'm running it on.
Fixed 2 this week customers that just won't stop hammering the keys and wait for the upgrade to finish. One so stunned she told me how it said "do not turn off until upgrade finishes" and she waited and waited and then shut it down, now it won't even start. When I got there, all the fucking lights on her laptop were lit and it took all my self control not to yell at her
If the lights are on, it ain't OFF you idiot!
Held the button down, restarted, upgrade finished and all was fine. Then she was on about how it didn't have "shortcut to CD drive" on the desktop like her old one... of course it had no optical drive. Oh well $50 is $50
