That would be the best guess, but one should remember there are Kurds and there are Kurds.
As I understand it the PKK are the ones with the beef with Turkey. They're Marxists. They're scattered around, but based more in Northern Syria.
The Peshmerga are our allies and they're more Northern Iraq. That's the way I heard it anyway.
