B.C.'s South Coast was hit by an earthquake that shook many people from their sleep last night, in what one seismologist called the largest quake in the region in years.

    That was a hell of a jolt last night. It lasted three seconds but my condo felt like it picked up and dropped.

    This was the stongest earthquake I've felt in all of my life of living in BC.
