Bryce Casavant, the B.C. conservation officer who was suspended for refusing to kill two black bear cubs, is being transferred out of the service, but his union is fighting back.

    we are not mindless process driven automatons. We have the ability to make clear and rational decisions, CO's are well trained and their judgement on putting down an animal or not should be theirs.

    This is just another case of someone embarrassing a ministry in the Gov't and paying the price. He should have known that you can't embarrass anyone in the Ministry of the Environment and get away with it. Given this Gov'ts propensity for protecting their minions poor decisions he's probably lucky that he didn't wake up with a horses head in his bed.
