Vancouver Coastal Health has asked restaurants to take increased precautions when serving oysters as more illnesses are reported.

    Idiots, you don't eat cooked oysters during red tide, nevermind raw ones. They barely palatable in any way when raw, nevermind if they are raw and infected. Darwinism should have kicked in here.

    Simple rule of thumb. Don't eat any shell fish or mollusks in months that don't have an "R" in them, red tide or not.

    Maybe you're thinking of prier oysters.
