On Monday, June 8, a British academic called Connie St Louis uploaded a sensational document to her Twitter feed. Beginning with the question �Why are the British so embarrassing abroad?

    No, what matters is the source of the charge. After reading what bitch-face was whining about, it appears that this one was born sans a sense of humour. She also seems to be one of those "progressives" that either don't understand context or just don't care. She heard a combination of words and got her moo-moo all in a bunch about it, not caring about what was said immediately before or after the part she whined about.

    Here's a sample of what Sir Timothy Hunt has accomplished
    Hunt was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS) in 1991 and a foreign associate of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences in 1999. In 2001, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Leland Hartwell and Sir Paul Nurse for their discoveries regarding cell cycle regulation by cyclin and cyclin-dependent kinases. In 2006, he was awarded the Royal Medal for "discovering a key aspect of cell cycle control, the protein cyclin which is a component of cyclin dependent kinases, demonstrating his ability to grasp the significance of the result outside his immediate sphere of interest". He was also knighted in the 2006 Birthday Honours, and has said that he rarely uses the title 'Sir' and that it should not affect his scientific standing.


    Somehow I get the feeling that any contributions to society or humanity from Connie St. Liar are pretty negligible, if not downright non-existent. Hmm I think I just found my new hashtag; Connie St. Liar.

    So we lose a superb Nobel scientist but keep a third-rate lying mediocrity. My problem with all this is that, increasingly, key levers of society are being ceded to the irredeemably stupid and mendacious, who seem to be the only ones capable of navigating the rocks and rapids of political correctness. One has the uneasy feeling that similar scenarios are playing out every day around the western world. How long before the planes start dropping out of the sky?
