Drugs shouldn't be the first step to treatment, just a temporary measure. Diet and exercise will go much farther, and the side effects are mush easier to deal with than the side effects from drugs. :)

Totally agree but some people just don't get the message till they see half their face drooped.

Been there, did the therapy. Still can't walk 100% correctly.

It changes things when you realize it might not kill you instantly, but you may have to live for years or decades shitting into a bag. Then going out for a walk once in a while doesn't seem so bad!

The CDC is just trying to expand the market for blood pressure medications.

This, they have a bloody pill for everything these days, good profits too.

Having Merck and Pfizer as clients sure opened my eyes.

I'm off the BP meds already, for whatever reason my BP is actually better now than 2 years ago.

Same as docs advocating putting statins in the water supply because of all the lives it would save. Don't hear that one anymore. Docs are just becoming drug pushers.

^^ This. Treat the symptoms, not the problem.

You hear about all the drugs that old people are on. My mom is 88 and doesn't take anything. It's a struggle to get her to take an aspirin when she's hurting, which I think she is quite a bit of the time. She just bears down and gets on with life. Tough old bird.

Total hogwash. Big Pharma doesn't need or want a government body interfering with them making money or telling them how to do it. They employ much better people who know what they are doing.

That shot across the bow has a great impact on one's life goals. But even the ones who live a healthy lifestyle can get hit. You only get to play with the genetic cards your parents gave you and the life you live.

I totally agree with that........but some just can't be bothered looking after themselves.
