He says young aboriginals in his community despair as they see luxuries on satellite television they can only dream of.

Maybe time to move to where those luxuries are common and get a job. I have no sympathy for natives who insist on living on reserves that are not economically viable. They're just welfare camps.

What they don't focus on is the fact that it's the chiefs and councils that are responsible for many of the miserable conditions on the Bannock Republics. They want to keep the people poor and uneducated.....easier to control and intimidate.

They're Third World potentates, just like petty dictators of little African countries.

Hence the term Bannock Republics being a play on Banana Republics.

The ones that leave and get a higher education don't come back. Not much they can do about it. The only jobs are in the Band Office...
They built a gas station/cafe and supermarket on the rez here. But would you go off to university and move back to the rez to pump gas, fry chicken or bag groceries for $12 hr?
But it made a big diff to those that don't go off to university.

Just take away the satellite, problem solved.

We spend 8 billion a year on Indian Affairs.

Surely more money will solve this problem.

So hows about a pic of the chief's house ??????

That's because it doesn't fit the narrative that Whitey is 100% responsible for 100% of their misery. Remember, any comment going against the narrative regardless of how factual, would be "racist".

I'm wondering why there is no roof on the house, but they still have satellite TV.

    I'm not.
Satellite and subscription could have paid for running water and a septic tank.

You know, whitey must give everything, can't so a fffing thing for myself.

    8 billion is not enough.

You need satellite TV to get CBC. They shut down all the remote CBC transmitters to save you buggers some money.
Or are we buying the argument that access to the news and HNIC is some left-wing entitlement, like you get in JAIL?
