Good for the CPHA. Only way to reduce the harm of prostitution, since it certainly isn't going anywhere

Let the government run the whore houses. It will be the first time in history that prostitution loses money.

The government is a whore house. Should make loads of cash. Too bad the happy ending would be on us.

I'd like to see the criminal code reflect a unified fairness. Either it's illegal to buy and sell or it's legal to buy and sell.

The half and half is illogical bullshit.

Really is the best way. Get a card updated (however often_) saying you are clean of disease and registered and those without go to jail.

BTW, picture in the article is of Artemis Nightclub in Berlin, its quite the concept in brothels / clubs. Basically a cover charge and the rest is a night of safe legal debauchery based on negotiation.

It's not that simple - what do to about all the survival hookers, the ones on drugs hanging out on sleazy street corners. We've tried arresting them and they just move a block away. Vancouver now won't even arrest them anymore, even with the new laws, unless they're causing a problem. You can pass laws up the yin yang, and this type of hooker will always be around, as are the sleaze bags that use them. (How anybody can fk one of these is beyond me).

The "escort" type of hooking should just be legalized, that's between consenting adults. The street hookers tho, needs a lot more than just locking them all up.

Agreed but it seems to be working at least a little better in Germany than here. No matter what vice is legal there will always be illegal versions of it somewhere. Cigarettes, booze, and gambling are legal but there are many illegal ones being sold. I would no advocate therefore just making them all illegal since we can't get rid of the illegal ones.

It's actually been suggested that the govt provide places where survival hookers can ply their trade. Hate to see what mansion of delight those places would be. Best way to deal with this sort of thing is legalize drugs and treat it as a medical issue. That might include giving them free drugs so they don't go and hook.
