Instead of getting outraged, shouldn't the women who are insecure and are struggling with eating disorders and body image issues try solving their problems through introspection and counselling. Because, let's face it, removing these ads won't solve their problems.

    ***edited for clarity.

It's a woman ironing, it's a woman on a weight scale, it's preying on our insecurities and it's also supporting this traditional image of a woman which perpetuates inequality, perpetuates violence against women. It's horrible."

As opposed to idiotic shit like wanting everyone else to pay for their abortions or birth control or a week off every month for "menstrual purposes"?

So using overweight average looking females in ads instead is going to change the basic carnal desires of the male species? Ain't going to happen! I for one know what I like to see regardless of what the marketing world or the whining world tells me I should like to look at.

I'm sure you're very pretty, Martin. Try not to brag so much.

Well, we all know how ugly you are, so your whining is to be expected.

Something that encourages busky gross old fat women with smoking and drinking problems to hit on skinny twenty somethings aggressively on online forums with other busky old obese women, while claiming nothing is fucked up about their attitudes.

Come out from underneath your rock. This has been happening since the advent of the net. Nay, since forever. They^ never needed encouragement!
