Ukraine's energy minister says a technical fault at a nuclear power plant in the south of the country has cut power production but insists it poses no danger.

"There is no threat ... there are no problems with the reactors and that cloud of radio active material floating over western Europe is naturally occurring" .Energy Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn, who took up his post in a new government only on Tuesday, told a briefing.
