And this a few hours after hearing that the Free Syrians got their asses handed to them by ISIS and lost all the equipment and supplies the Americans had been giving them. Fuck it, everyone just hold their noses and come out in open support of Assad, whose innate viciousness essentially means he's really the only one capable of beating the jihadists, and quit pretending that there's more than two dogs in that fight over there.

Seems like the Obama administration keeps supplying weapons the the wrong groups.

Don't think they will ever openly support the Assad regime.

The sad truth about the moslems is that it takes a dictator to keep those people under control. Left to their own devices they'll go insane and try to revert to the 7th century.

Yeah, they're too stuck in that "supporting democracy" horseshit they've been peddling since the 1950's. Look at how well applying that "founding fathers" nonsense worked out for them in Iraq with rotten little sectarian kleptocrats like Maliki. Never gonna stop, I suppose, fucking myths of their own righteousness (and by extension the clowns and scum they end up supporting) are too damn strong to ever get rid of. Maybe if they cough up a few billion more to him Ahmed Chalabi can come out of retirement in the Riviera and scare up a few good contacts for them.

Let's see. When the Assads were running the show, there was infrastructure, minority and women's rights were protected. Society was largely secular and stable. The ones who got kicked around for the most part were Islamists. Definitely the lesser of two evils. Once again the Americans and the West fucked up and backed the wrong horse, just like they did in Kosovo.

As was once said of the United Fruit Company and their well-paid paramilitary mercenaries, as they were in the middle of exterminating a quarter million or so dirt poor Guatemalan peasants, they're Our Guys therefore they're the Good Guys. Usually plays pretty well to the delightfully clueless mouth-breathers and neckbeards come election time so no one should ever expect any major changes in propaganda and media-massaging tactics to occur any time soon.

Had to fix that for you, since this has been going on for a little longer than 6 years.

    True.

You can replace Assad with Ghaddafi, Mubarak, and several others, easily.

Obongo has been backing the wrong horses since he started.

It's just about a perfect record, only to be topped when the Argies start up again.

    Thanks a lot, Obongo.

Why? So they can turn around and fuck us over like various other groups over there have done to the West?

To repeat something I said some time back, just because there's a war somewhere doesn't mean we have to pick sides. Sometimes sides are assholes.
