Russia's military acted in an "unnecessarily provocative" manner when its aircraft circled a Canadian ship in the Black Sea on Sunday, says Canada's minister of national defence.

Two Sukhoi SU-24 fighter jets and a surveillance plane circled a Canadian ship in the Black Sea.

This sort of thing has happened before. They were probably listening to systems turning on and sensing them. The Russians are collecting data about our ships.

We are in their home waters and it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that they are intercepting us. We would do the same, if we only had the hardware to do so.

The Toronto has SAMs. Time to use them. I hear Sukhois make good target practice.

Toronto is cruising with a few AEGIS destroyers, among other ships.

There is a hornets nest alright, it's sailing through the Black Sea under this banner.

As I said, it sounds like they are collecting electronic itel, watching our weapons turn on, lock, track, etc.

I remember seeing a photo at the Warplane Heritage Museum of an RCN Sea King hovering a few hundred feet above a Soviet destroyer. That must have scared the shit out of them!

"Stay back, Yuri!. There are chunks falling off!"
