    "armed group"

Just can't bring themsleves to say 43 Fijians are being held by terrorists.

btw, al-nusra is the favorite group for all our heroic Western jihadis.

Look for Assad to invite the Israelis to rescue the Fijians. He's playing this one pretty wisely by saying it's okay with him if the West kills off ISIS. Makes him look all nice and cooperative and he gets the advantage of some major players killing off the crazies for him.

The modern world ... the great-great grandchildren of head hunters face beheadings in the Arabian desert.

If there are any negotiations to be attempted with Syria, it'll be easier to deal with Assad rather than the ISIS nuts. He's secular and educated.

We need to just walk away. We got no horse in that race. Humaniatrian aid for the refugees, limited arms for the Kurds, and prosecution/deportation of residents of Canda participating, but that's it. This is a convulsion of violence that no one can stop.

Normally I agree 100%, but in this particular case something should be done to rescue the UN guys. It's already a field day for ISIS with the way they're grabbing and killing reporters and aid workers. If it's allowed to be extended to blue helmets then it's a sign of a total moral collapse. What happened in Rwanda to the Belgians was bad enough. If the Fijians get massacred without any attempt being made to save them it'll be a hundred times worse.
