Parched Texas Town Turns to Treated Sewage as Emergency Drinking Water Source

WICHITA FALLS, Texas�City officials began blending 5 million gallons a day of treated wastewater into their municipal water system this week, launching one of the biggest so-called direct reuse programs in the country.

    This wouldn't be a problem if people didn't insist on building cities in desert...just saying.

    If people build in deserts then they have to be willing to adapt as these folks have.

    They should be distilling the treated water. That way it is completely clean - like rainwater without the dust from the atmosphere.

    That's just a massive waste of energy.

    It's almost as if you can reuse water.

    Every city in the desert is headed down that same path. Phoenix is another one that's doomed. When population growth outpaces the technology to provide water for said growing population, it's doomed. Something the ancient Natives who lived in the area learned the hard way as well.
