Someone figured out how to open a hotel really cheap using recycled materials and mis-tinted paint. Kinda neat, actually. Might have to add that to the ol' bucket list.
It's just the old Blue Ridge Motel that someone painted in the colours that they thought the 60's looked like. Here's some pics of the interior of the place and while cute it isn't my cup of tea.
Your right Freakinoldguy, Hotel Zed began as the Blue Ridge Inn but other than the building structure nothing of that remains. Trust me it's far more than just paint. Very cool new retro style furniture, Top off line line wireless, new LED TV's with media hubs that let you use all your devices, new Hot Tub and Waterslide, Great funky 67 VW bus as the shuttle, ping pong lounge, Wii stations, free rental bikes and more. Of course it won't be everyone's cup of tea (perfect statement for Victoria) but we encourage folks to have a look and welcome all visitors.

It's nice to see an old building refurbished rather than torn down so, thanks for the invite and if you're pet friendly I'll put you on the list of potential places to stay when I come back to town. Although, since most of my activities are in Esquimalt it's a bit out of the way but, having a waterslide and ping pong lounge may just move you up on the list.
This sounds awesome.
You couldn't afford it anyway.
Don't forget, free dope smoking lounge on the roof !

Those carpets in the rooms are kinda trippy though
