    The Russians are reminding Canada that the world is not a friendly place. Frankly, Putin's doing you folks a favor by not letting your complacency dictate policy.

    Harper likes to talk big, but not actually do anything. Likes to claim he supports the military, while reducing funding 1997 levels as a percentage of GDP.

    So we're back to the cold war. Big deal, we survived 44 years of it before and we'll survive it again. Russia's actions may actually be a boon for our military. We might get an increase in the budget if this keeps up.

    If Putin wants to go back to the old Cold War days of seeing what he can get away with by prodding our territory, then by Chris Hadfields' moustache, we accept that challenge!

    I just wish we had a sub or two for when those nuclear icebreakers start sailing past Iqualuit.
