A couple from Chilliwack, B.C. is so fed up with property crime in their neighbourhood that they're taking some extreme measures to protect themselves, including posting surveillance video of more than a dozen incidents online.

Saw this on TV and what the article fails to mention is that these are gun owners so, anyone actually breaking into their house isn't likely going to get the standard RCMP, don't confront them and let them take what they want, routine.

But here's a question. If they called the police and if they by some stroke of luck acutally came, wouldn't it be easy to identify the thief and or thieves in question by the paint all over their body and their smiling faces on the surveillance tape?

Sounds to me more like the police don't want to have to deal with the revolving door of our justice system that keeps spitting criminals back out over and over and over again, rather than dealing with them, especially when most of them are probably drug addled assholes with sob stories about why they're criminals.

So, with that pleasant thought in mind. The next article we read, discussing crime from Chilliwack will likely be about some thieving druggie with a series of bullet holes evenly spaced throughout his body, clinging precariously to life.

Wolbeck says if residents catch someone in the act of breaking into their home or car, it's never a good idea to confront them, because there's a good chance the thief has been drinking or is on drugs, and there's no way of knowing if they have a weapon on them
    Instead she advises calling 911.

    Never change police.

What group was the first that said, "You know what would make Oslo better? If we let in a bunch of illiterate religious zealot peasants from the third world." - Some guy on 4chan.
