With half of local election results declared, Ukip has won more than 100 seats, costing all the main parties overall control of town halls across the country.
So first it was Marine Le Pen in France, now Farrage in the UK, and for a while things looked good for Wilders in the Netherlands.
Right wing resurgence in Europe, maybe? They're all anti-Eu, and opposed to multi cultural over home culture supremacy. That much seems to be the case.
Farage and UKIP deny they are against multiculturalism. This is where they differ greatly from LePen and Wilders. UKIP is against open border within the EU and predicted correctly the influx of Romanians would be staggering. UKIP policy is to accept those that will benefit Britain regardless of where they're from. Same thing that we would want here.

I have no problem with that kind of an immigration policy. Quite reasonable and quite sensible for any nation that doesn't want to commit demographic suicide.
The EU dropping its borders came too much too fast on a continent that has seen almost continuous warfare since the end of Pax Romana. It's no surprise that there is a backlash.
If you point out to the British that they have flooded the four corners of the planet with millions of poor immigrants from THEIR little kingdom, though ... silence.

WTF? Like me who came here, from England, in 1976 at the age of 10. Yep, Canada has really been done worse by me. British immigrants have built some of the best nations on this planet, Canada, U.S., N.Z., hell even our criminals built Australia.
Farage isn't really right wing.. yet. He needs to use a soft way, because the UK is so thoroughly brainwashed.
Sunday should be interesting, European election results.
Totally agree, though Farage did start out as a Conservative in his early political life.
I think he's been very smart so far in Britain but still has a long way to go. Of all the party leaders he has the ability for straight talk instead of the double talk nonsense of the LibLabCon leaders. Still I enjoy watching his EU clips on YouTube, absolutely brilliant and good for a laugh.

First of all, my ancestors came here from the U.K. in several waves spread out over two hundred years.
Yes, they "built" Australia and almost completely destroyed the oldest continuous culture on Earth in the process. The Aborigines were hunted for sport, almost into modern times.
Yes, British immigrants built a lot. They also destroyed a lot. You would be hard pressed to find an indigenous people anywhere on this planet that thinks that the outmigration of the British (and Spanish, French, Dutch, Portuguese) was a positive thing in any way. To hear the Brits whining about Romanians and Poles, after wiping out whole peoples all over the planet ...
Safe to say many people back then were barbaric is some manner or the other to the indigenous. I say look at those nations that were "founded" by the British and chose to keep their British ways, British common law and customs, they have flourished compared to those nations that have turned away.
Now the EU has opened the borders of all member nations to other member nation (in particular former Bloc countries). With the estimates from the conservative government suggesting Romanian influx would be about 15,000 a year when in reality in the first few months a 115,000 Romanians, mostly poor, many gypsies came with Britain powerless to stop them. One statistic is that 94% of ATM theft is from Romanian immigrants! Britain pays 55M a day for the priviledge of being an EU member, it receives 33M back. UKIP may be a one platform party but it's a major concern that the other three parties have, until now ignored.
The "most recent" of my British ancestors arrived here 109 years ago. I don't feel particularly British, knowing that some of them, anyway came here under duress and were various types of refugee from Britain. Canada was not colonized from England, originally (as was the United States). They came from the Celtic fringe along the West coast of the British archipelago ... the "Scotch-Irish" as they used say back in pioneering times ... and Cornishmen and Welsh in my own case, as well. Many waves of British outmigration came here to escape and build a proper life. They were extremely successful, too I would say. The first step was to shake off the British class system that they tried to export. You see, Canada was colonized by poor outcasts and refugees ... not unlike those Romanians that are showing up on British doorsteps. The irony ...

The difference being....Britain is already well established and does not need colonisation from the Gippo's.
I recall, as a lad, news of Britain joining the European Common Market, that was in '73. that was the last time Britons had a vote regarding being members of the EU. A common market, free trade within Europe, sounds good but slowly powers were transferred to Brussels to the point, as UKIP claim, 94% of British law is now made in Brussels by an unelected body. This is finally the first time Britons have a say and they've spoken. It was a hard fought victory for Farage and UKIP. It will be interesting how that translates to next years national election and if Cameron will go into a coalition with an enemy even worse than the LIbDems.

The far left calls that far right, doesnt' it?

Well, what can I say ... Karma.
If you so desire.
One good thing was the ability to dump the British class system.
