Not that I'm suggesting they should but if they are going to extend the right to mothers then why not to fathers? Are we not supposed to be equal?
Hell, if they are going to go this far then why not let the whole family move in?
IMO visitations is one thing, but having children live in a prison full-time... no.
Gender bias? Maybe. Very few situations would arise where the incarcerated dad is the best option vs the mother of the young child. But yes, if dad can demonstrate that he's actually prepared to parent, then it should be allowed for men as well.
Also the sentence of the mother (or father) should be taken into account. someone who's in for a minimum of 10 years say , like 2nd degree murder, it doesn't really make much sense. Probably best to have the kid up for adoption.
