This company should have their workers sent back to their countries of origin and be barred from the TFW program.

This is country wide. There is no reason to import people for restaurant work. Seasonal work and work requiring highly specialized training where we can't find a Canadian, yes. Everything else has to stop. There are now at least 400,000 temp workers in Canada. Treating this on a case by case basis, where the govt first gives the permit, then makes a big show of investigating is just bullshit.

Absolutely. You give make contribution to my party, I screw over Canadian workers for you. It's good to see this is getting more attention, I hope people keep the pressure on. There will probably be pushback that it's racist to deny visas to temp workers.

I'm no expert on the subject or laws which apply, but even I can see clearly that the restaurant did an 'end run'.

This, along with every other restaurant in Canada, from this place up to Timmies.

    "It's all Harper's fault"

"Since 2002, the federal government has allowed companies to hire temporary foreign workers for jobs they can't fill with Canadians. "

Paul Martin needed a new crew for CSL perhaps?

Easy fix too. The law should stipulate- which would apply to any foreign worker-than any Canadian citizen-meeting minimum requirements-who applies for a job where foreign workers are employed shall be hired even at the expense of letting a foreign worker go. It should also be legislated that the employer will be responsible for full cost of sending that worker back to their country ,or finding them other suitable employment.

Living in the past are we? How long has Harper been in power now? You mean he's too weak to stop it, has to greatly increase what Martin started. Poor Harper, still has Martin's fingers up his ass - but them maybe Stevo likes it like that.

Paul Martin is your hero and Jim Flaherty should credit all his successful policies to Martin. Give credit where credit is due.
