I get many people find the Russian's views are offensive, but it's their views, and this is their country. Going there to try to enforce our views is just going to piss them off.

I miss the days when the Olympics were not so political, those days were before my time so I really can't say I miss them but dang sure do wish people could just drop all their agendas and enjoy the sporting events.

Former NDP member Svend Robinson did the same with Israel a couple of years ago embarrassing Canada and his party.

I'm having a hard time understanding why Vancouver's city council would be paying for this trip. Sound more like a personal protest kind of thing as opposed to an actual official municipal city council function.

Well, maybe he can get them to ban door knobs right after he's done getting them to reverse there thinking on gays and lesbians

Is it normal for the last host city to send a delegation?

I bet getting hit with a sackful of levers hurts worse than with a sackful of traditional knobs. Try it on the Dipper nearest you to see what happens. Make sure that he supplies his own levers first though.

Jeez, a free trip to the Olympics and all you have to do is go gay? Throw in a ticket to the hockey finals, and you can sign me up.
