A German candy-maker has had pull to "racist" sweets from the shelves. Haribo has removed the blackface liqorice designs after customer complained in Sweden.

The face to the left of the house was probably a bad idea as it represents a less tolerant time in advertising, at least here in North America. Not sure if Haribo (German company) would have know this. They took it out so good on them.

I have a black friend who was shopping in a bulk food store with his kids and pointed at a bin of black licorice babies and loud enough for everyone to hear said, "hey kids look, ni@@er babies." Apparently people did not know how to react when they looked and saw who was saying it.

Funny. My Indonesian grand mother brought some of those masks with her from one of her trips home. I guess I should be offended or something that they are now turned into licorice.

I'm not. Can we get them back in the bags now? You have to listen to your customers, right?

Seriously, can people please STOP being offended by every damned little thing?? Sometimes, things are just what they are. Just because it's black, doesn't make it racist.

    Racist Candy?

If you want to take the soft approach, get the Candy some counseling and diversity training.

If you want to drop the hammer down, take the Candy to the Human Rights Commission.

Either way racism is unacceptable, I don't care what ethnic or food group you belong to. Just because you happen to be sweet and yummy doesn't mean you get a pass!

It's even worse than you think. These racist candies have proven themselves to be very violent indeed.

Just hours ago at a corner store in Stuttgart, they instigated a riot in which all the lollipops were licked, they whipped the liquorice and kicked the nuts right off of the Oh Henrys.
In a valiant effort to try and save the day, the Three Musketeers attempted to drive the racist candies back but they just turned out to be all fluff.

Several gummy bears that had sided with the racist candies claimed they were only following orders when a mass grave of Nerds was uncovered.

They should send them all to the Netherlands, BC or Colorado.

    Peace
