Why make a TV show about redneck goofs then suspend one of the redneck goofs for acting like a redneck goof? Was it written down in the contract that he was only allowed to act like a redneck goof on the show but the rest of the time he was obligated to try to pass for normal? :?

I guess they were pretending that redneck goofs weren't racist homophobes.

    Fail.

This may have had something to do with A&E's decision.

Duck Dynasty creator Scott Gurney starred in indie gay porn film

How can you say "hit a nerve" politely. The strange thing is that he made this same basic rant in 2010 and A&E along with the creator of Duck Dynasty didn't go off the rails then, so why now?

Dumb decision on A&E's part if they were worried about money. I doubt these swamp dwelling 'tards had a massive gay and black audience segment to offend to begin with.

Dumb show. End of discussion, as far as I am concerned.

I think the show was getting shaky, Phil had previously butted heads when he was unhappy with some of the editing of the show. I'm gonna guess it was statements like this that were being edited out, and he wasnt happy about it. So when he got a chance to say what he wanted to GQ he went for it. I think the show is bad fit for A&E, they do much better with shows about interventions and people catching criminals. Duck Dynasty would do better on the TLC network between 'Say Yes to the Dress Texas' and 'Honey Boo Boo'.

Exactly and the Robertson's have more than enough money so they don't need the Arses and Elbows network for sweet fuck all. 8O

It's actually the other way around when you think about it.

And sorry Brenda, as dumb as the show may be the issue has morphed into not only his opinions on homosexuality but also his right to express those views. So don't expect it to stop anytime soon.

I've never understood why it was so popular, be I also am at as loss as to why 'twerking' is a thing. I must be getting old.

He has every right to say what he pleases. Just remember that every action has a reaction. This was A&E's reaction. You know, the ones that are paying him?

Don't make this a 'freedom of speech' thing. He's not arrested, nor in jail, right?

I didn't make it about free speech but alot of people are so don't be surprised if he sues A&E for violating his First Amendment Rights unless of course, they had a clause in his contract that stopped him from saying idiotic things like this which may be the reason he didn't get taken to task for it in 2010.

Either way E&A is gonna be the big looser on this one. They'll lose alot of the Conservative audience they had if the show goes off the air and they'll lose any of the Liberals who even though they likely didn't watch the show still feel that A&E should have taken him to task 3 years ago when his views came to light.

WEST MONROE, La. (CBS Houston) Over 1 million people support boycotting A&E following the suspension of Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson.

As of Thursday evening, more than 1 million people have liked the Boycott A&E Until Phil Robertson Is Put Back On Duck Dynasty Facebook page.

Duck Dynasty has been a ratings juggernaut for A&E, averaging 14 million viewers an episode

Walmart is selling out Duck Dynasty gear as fans flock to show their support of Phil Robertson and the show following the patriarchs recent comments about homosexuality, the Daily Mail reports. While Forbes estimates that the Robertson familys empire is worth about $400 million, Walmart sales make up about half of that.

Even as reports surface that the family is very serious about ending the show, fans are apparently doing more than just voicing their support on various social media websites.

Duck Dynasty on TheBlaze has a nice ring to it, according to Glenn Beck.

One day after Phil Robertsons comments about homosexuality earned him an indefinite suspension from the hit series Duck Dynasty on A&E, Beck offered the entire Robertson family a place on his own network.
