As long as it's a National Network paid for by the taxpayers largess the twits in Ottawa will always consider it just another Organ of the Government to be abused by them just like EI, Revenue Canada or the Military.

So this plea will go nowhere because, if you aren't a political hack at the CBC you aren't working at the CBC.

Kind of like the Senate when you think about it. :P

Question. I just went to post that first post and I got a message that said the subject must be 64 Characters or less and then it wouldn't let me post till I deleted a bunch of the subject.

Since I've never seen this before I was wondering if anybody else getting this message?

We should free the CBC from federal funding too.

Does this mean they will get rid of all the left wing hacks paid for by the taxpayer?

Jeremy Clarkson's also employed by public television; anything's possible.

It ran the article but not the cry for this not to happen. Did the Globe editorial board or publisher make an announcement of support? If not then they are just reporting news, not an expression of concern.

Only support mentioned was by "Friends of Canadian Broadcasting" and by their own admission they are "not affiliated with any broadcaster"

Since the CBC is taxpayer-funded I'm not seeing an issue here.

Why do they have to editorialize for people to be concerned? An independent news organization with a long history of professionalism is being turned into yet another mouthpiece for 'Canada's Governemnt', and no one seems to care.

So what if they are only reporting the news - thats what news organizations are supposed to do! Not Editorialize. That's opinion, and not news. We don't even allow that here on CKA!
