Two B.C. residents have been charged in an al-Qaeda-inspired Canada Day terror plot that involved pressure cooker bombs similar to the ones used in the Boston Marathon bombings.

They were arrested Monday and are accused of building explosive devices with the "purpose of causing death or serious bodily injuries," which were placed outside the B.C. legislature in Victoria on Canada Day.

I spent Canada Day last year in front of the Legislature.

Miserable fuckers, lock them in a small room and set their bombs off beside them.

I prefer a big room. Probably would suffer a little more.

Jesus ..they look like your standard tree hugging pot smoking BC hippies. Were they pissed that the NDP lost the election?

Lock them in a crate and send them to Norway.

I have to wonder if these two are coverts to islam? If so, why not use their islamic names?

Because they're a pair of wannabe dumbshits who aren't clever enough for that.

Darn. I was hoping for a good rant against immigrants and multi-cult with this one. Instead it turns out to be just a couple of home-grown white losers. :|

If they are converts to Islam though, between them and the other Canadian-born assholes that were involved in the gas plant attacks in Algeria, it appears that we might have a bigger problem than we previously thought we did with disaffected scumbags getting radicalized to the dark side. Not good at all.

Boy do these poor RCMP talking heads at the Q & A ever not to want to say the word.

    However...

Nuttalls lawyer, Tom Morino, said his client had converted to Islam and embraced the Muslim faith, but the alleged offences are absolutely unrelated to any mosque group or any other established organization. I am not aware of any mosque with which he is affiliated.

Nuttall and Korody are charged with conspiring together or with others to place an explosive in a government facility with intent to cause death or serious bodily injury for the benefit of a terrorist group and facilitating a terrorist group

If appearances mean anything you're probably right, from the looks of this Nutall character the RCMP probably saved the two of them from blowing their own asses all to Hell and back!

No offense to the Moving Day apostolates but, just like those dipshit FLQ bomb makers in 1970. :D

And just like the FLQ wog's they'll probably end up with no prison sentences to speak of and marrying one of our Governor General's.

Reminds me of that classic line of Rebecca's on "Cheers" : "I'm too dumb to live!"

But seriously, I'm glad the RCMP was on top of this, and I worry about situations where they might not be.

I guess we should lock up this pair and throw away they key. Though I don't think I'd mind them being dropped off somewhere in the High Arctic with a pressure-cooker bomb and the option to go fast or go slow.

The thing I often wonder about is how do these people get radicalized? Does it sneak up on them somehow, or do they quietly think to themselves, 'I'm going to become a Jihadi. That would be cool. I'm going to go online and read a Koran, or something".

Apparently this guy was a druggy criminal with weapons charges. He did time. In Britain and America, weak minds have gotten themselves radicalized in prison by government sponsored Imams. The problem is even if it was happening here in Canada as well, we'd never hear about it from Canadian media, so we can only guess what might be happening in Canadian prisons with radical, government sponsored, Imams.

And people like me can only sit around and guess, and wait to be told to go put on our tinfoil hat by the mavins of internet forums where we hazard our guesses; but I forgot where I put it.
