Absolutely horrible. A family destroyed all because someone couldn't wait for the light to change.

There's no justice in this. The offending driver is still alive and the family in the car he hit is dead. The driver could be sent to jail on five counts of manslaughter and there still wouldn't be any justice.

Agreed. Never fails to amaze me the choices people make to satisfy some tiny selfish need.

Sadly it happens all the time, the man will likely get out early too just like the woman just under a couple years ago that killed six near Cochin, SK while (again, she is a repeat drunk driver) driving drunk without a license. She got 10 years in Dec 2004, was out in May 2011.

If you see the pictures and the spread of the debris, he was going way over the limit.

I'm wondering if he was too busy on a phone call or texting to be bothered with driving?

Time will tell. The intersection is at the bottom of the hill so what's most likely is that the guy gunned it to beat the red.

White van, which usually means tradesman, which usually also means driving like a maniac all the time too.

He was going so fast that the car he hit was torn in half. He went a further 200 meters after the impact. One cop said it's th worst accident he's seen in 20 years.
