Fr Andrea Maggi is a first class jerk.

Pope Benedict had the good sense and guts to know when it was time to step down.

I disagree with Benedict's position on many things and the Catholic Church needs to adjust to the 21 century, but it takes guts to step down from a position like that when it is time to leave the stage. Give him his proper credit.

Dissent in the Catholic Church... you never know, it might be a good thing.

Even though I do agree with GT. Nice play on words, by the way, calling him a "first class" jerk after his cruise ship comment.

You'll see 'officially' married priests within the Church before they ordain women. Personally there's more to this than we are being told right now. It'll slowly trickle out after the new Pope has settled into his throne.

There already are. Ukrainian Catholic priests can be married, if they were married before they took holy orders.

I was aware of that. Anglican priests who convert are allowed to do the same as can some African rites. I meant the ordination of men who are already married ..within the Western rite of the Church. It should be purely a personal choice rather than a rule made up by the hierarchy. The Bible itself says that religiously enforced celibacy is an evil.
