So, the girls were starved and beaten, one is now dead,
    but their son is fine.

    Allah would be proud.

Time to lock these a-holes up in a maximum security prison and throw away the key - how anyone can do something like to their own children beggars belief!

I have a friend who's husband is an EPS officer. He had to attend that scene, and a couple days later had to attend the G4S guards at HUB mall.

He said the actual condition of these girls defies description.

Islam has a bit of a misogynist bent to it that lends certain shades of their devotees to doing things like this. Not like they have an exclusive claim on this kind of thing, either. The Chinese (who are not religious at all) tend to abort girls and their parents are also known to kill baby girls in order to favor boys. The Hindus have long-held issues with women which we're seeing surfacing lately as women in India are sick and tired of being subjected to gang rapes for such 'offenses' as riding a bus without a male relative escorting them.

I'm frankly not surprised to see this kind of thing taking place in North America given the tacit legal acceptance that Muslims have had with other of their misogyinistic practices such as child marriages, forced marriages, bridal rape, bridal abductions, honor killings, and a near fetish for mutliating the faces of women for various 'offenses'.

Sure, these offenses are grudgingly prosecuted when exposed in public but not with the same zeal that would be attached to prosecuting someone for a 'hate speech' offense.

The problem is that these crimes fly in the face of the narrative that surrounds the cult of multiculturalism and which dictates that any culture in the world is just as good as Western culture. The crimes are an embarrasment to the political leaders who champion the immigration of these barbarians into our countries and they'd rather see them dealt with quietly or not at all in order to lull the rest of us into complacency.

What I mean is that you're not going to stop this kind of thing so long as we keep letting people into our countries who think this kind of thing is justifiable.

From my own point of view it's not like we don't have enough problems with the people we have, so why are we not screeing out the a-holes when they apply to immigrate to our countries?

So does Judaism and Christianity. Islam has just clung onto it more than they have.

Exactly why they need to be publicly denounced for it. Maybe we will see some of the same progression out of Islam that we have seen out of Christianity and Judaism in the west?

They can progress with the times, or they can fade into obscurity, their choice.

Fair enough. However, it continues to lurk, especially within Christianity. Not just lurk though, but trying to make a come back, especially within the US.

I figure that some areas have been reverting specifically because people stopped taking them to task on progressing.

Just need to keep the pressure up until the change is permanent, not just until they admit change is required. That goes for every religion.

People that kill children should be executed. They don't deserve to be locked up.

How's about we give them a little push and either way they choose doesn't matter to me in the least.

I really dislike these moral equivalency attitudes - "Yeah they do it but so do we."

We do not, not in a society-wide way that is tolerated by the majority of our citizens, not even close.

You would compare our few crackpots and mentally ill to systematic cultural failings and say they're the same. They're not.

When was the last time you heard of Christians in our Western societies cutting off a woman's nose, or throwing acid in her face, or amputating her external genitalia, or stoning a woman to death?

Agreeed. But at the same time most Muslims in Canada don't treat their women that way either. The reason Sandorski brought up Christians is because it turns into an all Muslims bad fest. Most Muslims good, or as good as anybody else. And some Sikhs do some pretty shitty stuff too, including terrorism. It's not the religion, it's the culture. I certainly agree that we should vet our immigrants much more closely as to how they'll fit in. Under my scheme that would be easy, since we would drastically cut back on immigration, giving all those immigration officers much more time to do a proper job.
