In interviews, Mrs Clinton appeared to acknowledge that she was trying to shield the president, our correspondent says.

Obama must be really worried. :)

Amazing how no one from the previous administration, from the lower level of lackeys to the defence secretary who couldn't find his ass with both hands and a flashlite to the guy at the top who with alarming frequency had dodged out on his daily presidential intelligence briefings for most of the spring and summer, never got around to taking any responsibility at all for the security collapse on September 11, 2001.

Ah well, they weren't Democrats. That alone means they were never ever had to say they were sorry.

Oh, you mean ignore al the intelligence warning, sit there reading "My Pet Goat" to a bunch of kids while your country is under attack, decide the most important thing to do is fly all your Saudi buddies out, and then invade a country that had SFA to do with it?

I'll give her credit for assuming responsibility even though she was the one ultimately responsible for ignoring the warnings.

Today, the Independent is reporting shocking details about the attack on the Libyan consulate that resulted in the death of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens. The details are so explosive that they will result in a Congressional investigation. In fact, theyre so explosive that they should result in the resignation of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The only question now: What did Hillary Clinton know, and when did she know it

But it's rather odd that she's the only one in the Obama Administration who had this knowledge beforehand which either means she's gone rogue or the Obama administrations is using plausible deniability to cover it's own screwups.

So, if people are gonna pillory the Bush Administration about 9/11 and their alleged coverups maybe people should be looking at this Administration under the same light and seeing what her admission really is.

Nothing more than a political move during an election run.

I would imagine she was the one in the administration who not only had information about the threat but also the background information to decide if it was credible or not.

Although it's very possible Obama had some knowledge of what was going on, he also has a lot of ther things to deal with and assesing risk at various embassies is the kind of job that's not done personally by the president.

More than a month later, and right now, just before the 2nd debate,
they throw Hillary under the bus. :)

Actually, won't be that bad. If Obama wins, Hillary stays in State.
If he loses, she will have 4 years to erase this from peoples' memory.
    Which won't be difficult.

Well, there isn't any love lost between the two. President Obama probably enjoyed reprimanding his former rival.

Unlike Bush who got enough practise in the first few years of his presidency that he just concentrated on enjoying himself the rest of the time. :)

Well, Obama is too busy to attend security briefs when Jay Z and Beyonce are hosting a party. :o
