Austrian Felix Baumgartner begins his 36.5km ascent in a helium-filled balloon to the edge of space as he attempts to break the record for the world's highest skydive.
"Hyack" said CNN is broadcasting with 20 second delay.
That's so they can cut the feed if it looks like he's gonna do a MASSIVE faceplant... Turns out they stopped broadcasting seconds before he jumped, and started again after he landed
"ShepherdsDog" said didn't break the freefall record
He broke the skydiving speed record and the altitude record for ballooning and jumping. Time in freefall record was missed, but probably due to his speed.

Conspiracy! JOO$ faked the RedBull freefall jump! This is worse than 9/11!
He broke the sound barrier?
The preliminary numbers are now in. The big one is speed. Baumgartner reached Mach 1.24, meaning he did break the speed barrier.
His exit was the highest ever recorded: 128,100ft (39,035 meters).
Baumgartner was in freefall for four minutes and twenty seconds.
The freefalling distance was 119,846ft (36,529 meters).
His maximum velocity was 373 meters per second.

Well that was terribly disappointing.
