The Quebec court accused the federal government of violating principles of Canadian federalism and its 42-page verdict cited the prime minister's words as evidence of that improper behaviour.

doesn't matter what the lower court says, the SCC has already indicated that firearms regulation is the sole jurisdiction of the feds. It will get overturned.

Wow, a Quebec court rules against the PM. Who would have thought it. Curtman you are a sad little man. You might want to ask Pauline Marois how well that gun registry is working.

The feds should send them a complete list of all weapons that are registered by Quebec gun owners, but not a single name. 8)

Seriously. Something is wrong with some of you. I did not write the article, I said absolutely nothing about it.

    Go fuck yourself.

You know all but one of the weapons that man that attacked the PQ victory square dance had were registered?

Now you've just gone over the deep end. This case isn't even about the effectiveness of the registry. Save your gun nutting for one that is.

And no I don't think Quebec should start their own registry. Whatever you're ranting about has no bearing on the fact that you've attacked me for something, though I haven't said a thing about it.

Submitting news articles for discussion is objectionable? Smarten up, the whole lot of you.

I agree all Curtman did was share the article and I thank him for that. It's not necessarily true that he agrees with the article and the attacks are unfounded and unneeded.

That having been said this could be an interesting turning point in provincial vs federal powers. Do provinces have the power to initiate or maintain security programs or databases? Should they have that power?

Sorry CanadianJeff, but Curtmans bias is well known. The ONLY articles he posts are those that show the Conservative Party or the PM in a bad light. You won't see him post any favorable articles on the Conservatives or non-favorable ones on the left-wing parties.(Except by accident like yesterday  )

He's a political hack who deserves our derision.

You don't think you might be poisoning the well a bit there? I don't care if he has a bias I'm not about to blast someone for being who they are so much as blast any ideas a person presents so they have evidence to change.

Some people will never change some of us reinvent ourselves a few times over our lives. No one is helped out at all when we just throw someone under a stereotype and never even have the respect to discuss ideas.

If you go back in my post history you may notice that I've argued against homosexuality, welfare, global warming and a few other things I now think quite the opposite of. This website was a small but notable part of the research that had me change my mind on those positions.

Hell go look at my discussion with dayseed on homosexuality filibuster-cartoons-f72/us-talk-radio-transitions-into-debate-about-homosexuality-t70778-240.html.

Just a few weeks ago I had to rip into a certain individual here who claimed that gay people should just shut up because at least we aren't killing them. I've gone from a vivid anti gay position to accepting my own sexuality as a gay person in the last few years. It still feels shameful to even type that to be honest but the important part is changing in the face of evidence.

You are of course free to ignore all that and have a dim view of humanity where change is a rarity but I'll continue to call bullshit when someone wants to just label someone as beyond talking to and throw them in a stereotypical box. Maybe it's naive but I refuse to give up on people.

So yea the next time I post about how there is no "right" and "left" and how uncomfortably gray reality is maybe you will realize that I know what the hell I'm talking about.

Just take it from a former youth minister looking to get into pastorship to an Atheist gay man. Change happens and it's wrong to attack a person rather then an idea.

    Peace and Love.

    Jeff

My bias is well known. Hahaha. On this issue I'm not even sure which side you'd accuse me of being on. I'm not a big fan of Quebec either. You want to talk about me being biased, while you attack me for an opinion that you haven't even bothered to ask me if I hold.

You are behaving like a child, and I'm not sure what brought it about. I never had any problems with you until recently. Do you guys get together and draw straws to see who is supposed to be forum bully for the year?

Calling a spade a spade is what I and others did.

Some people will never change some of us reinvent ourselves a few times over our lives. No one is helped out at all when we just throw someone under a stereotype and never even have the respect to discuss ideas.

Some of those people deserve the stereotype they wear, whether you like it or not.

If you go back in my post history you may notice that I've argued against homosexuality, welfare, global warming and a few other things I now think quite the opposite of. This website was a small but notable part of the research that had me change my mind on those positions.

Good for you, now when the partisan hacks on this site show they are no longer hacks but actually unbiased observers I will accord them some respect. Until them I will ridicule them as I see fit.

Again, when the partisan hack actually shows they are unbiased, I'll acknowledge it.

Whatever rocks your boat, but there is in fact left and right politically and SOME posters are mindless drone hacks. Pretending there isn't is akin to sticking your head in the ground and hoping it all works out.

No, that's different as you're biased against Islam and Curt is a completely neutral poster!
