ome of the IDs were associated with personal information of the device owners, such as names, cellphone numbers and postal addresses, while others were not linked with any personal data.

AntiSec said it removed all personal details before posting the IDs online

Of course one has to ask where they got this data, and why they are using it.

AntiSec said it obtained the IDs in March by exploiting a Java vulnerability and accessing a desktop folder on the laptop of a special agent who worked with the FBI's regional cyber action and evidence response teams in New York.
    ...
The group also said it publicized the IDs in order to draw attention to the fact that the FBI was compiling such information, and to get people to start asking why the law enforcement agency might be collecting the data, and what they could be doing with it.

Or were you asking about the FBI having and using the data? For sure it's some sort of NWO plot to enslave humanity, and murder kittens.

Yes, I knew how Luzsec got it. I just wonder how the FBI did in the first place.

It could very well be an NWO plot. I can't think of any investigation the FBI could come up with that needed 10 million iPhone Private serial numbers and personal data about the owners - unless Apple gave it to them from sales records.

I'd like to see that warrant.

I wonder if the FBI had the Apple ID's stored on Microsoft PC's. :D

The real news is apparently much less than was claimed...

Apple Device ID Leak Traced To BlueToad
    ...
The source of the database containing a million Apple device identifiers that was published online last week by hacking group AntiSec was identified on Monday as BlueToad, an app publisher and analytics provider based in Orlando, Florida.
AntiSec said it had obtained the database from the FBI, which subsequently disputed that claim.
    ...
DeHart claims that BlueToad does not collect sensitive personal information like credit card or social security numbers, and that the company, following Apple's recommendation earlier this year, modified its app code base to stop the reporting of UDID numbers. And now, he says, BlueToad has stopped storing UDID data sent to its servers by apps that have not yet incorporated BlueToad's new analytics code.

The FBI has not hacked your iPhone... Just an app vendor with bad security practices.
