Canadas plastic $50 and $100 bills (OK, polymer, really) are meant to be virtually indestructible. Unless you put them accidentally on or too near a heat source, anyway.

Well, you won't have to worry about people stealing money from your car on a hot summer day. It will be melted well before then

Hmm, so they'll survive an accidental washing. Good luck with the dryer though 8O

Did you know that the paper bills burn if you put a lit match to them?

Puts a different spin on having money burning a hole in your pocket! LOL

Same crap when the toonie came out. Oh look, plastic burns. If you hit a toonie with a hammer it breaks.
Australia has had these exact bills forever and it's fine. People need to stop being resistant to progress and inventing problems.
I took a 50$ plastic bill and left it on asphalt all day. The temp was nearly 150 degrees on that blacktop and NOTHING happened.

I agree with Prof, if you leave your wallet on a toaster your're asking for trouble.
