The comments on the CTV page all pretty much say the same thing.

    This one though...
We in Canada are not concerned about your tuition increase, this is an issue of Quebec only. Stay in your own country, you radicals!

I hope they spark protests in Ontario to rid Quebec of all favoritism in funding by the federal government, no need to balance the budget after that, we would have a surplus. The rest of Canada pays for their low tuition, I want my taxes (summer employment) to help keep my tuition from spiking, not keep Quebec's rates at less than half what I pay, this is bullshit.

Heh, I just pictured Alberta students protesting to get the deal that Charest already offered the Quebec students.

Greet them with a 21 gun salute pointed directly at them.

    1) Alberta doesn't have the rabidly one-sided media culture that Quebec does so Alberta students wouldn't have all the so-called adults around them encouraging them to engage in the same dipshittery that the freeloader students in Quebec were.

    2) Alberta students have too many job opportunities to exploit here thanks to the labour shortage to waste their time protesting when they can go out and make money over the summer instead. Thanks to their provincial politics strangling their economy, the best Quebec students can hope for in terms of summer employment is serving ice-cream cones to children or washing balls at the mini-golf course. As such it's no wonder most of them decide to take the summer off instead.

    I know. That's why it's funny.

Alberta students would be ecstatic for the deal that wasn't good enough for the punks in Quebec, yet they would never engage in the kind of crap going on out there. There just wouldn't be enough public sympathy to carry it to such a level.
