An AWOL soldier who had weapons stashed in a motel room near Fort Hood has admitted to planning an attack on the Texas post, where 13 people died in 2009 in the worst mass shooting ever on a U.S. military installation.

Pte.1st Class Naser Abdo, a 21-year-old soldier who was granted conscientious objector status this year after he said his Muslim beliefs prevented him from fighting, was arrested Wednesday. Agents found firearms and "items that could be identified as bomb-making components, including gunpowder," in his motel room, according to FBI spokesman Erik Vasys.

I guess his pacificism is out the door when it comes to killing infidels and his fellow countrymen.

Gotta wonder what the world would be like if the US decided to save money by going isolationist again. The billions going into Afghanistan and Iraq would go a long way to helping their own people and a fraction could be used to really beef up homeland security.

I'd prefer not to think about it :|

I understand the US is in a world of crap right now,
but it won't help anyone if they go inwards.

Too many without scruples waiting to step up and take the vacuum.
