Being fairly ignorant of a lot in the illegal drug world I have a question. Isn't heroin a white powder? If she had a packet of Equal (The sugar substitute) it would make more sense. How could it possibly look like used motor oil? Unless I'm missing something.

I am usually the first one to be pro-police on a lot of issues, but this looks like it is fairly hard to defend.

Sorry GT these guys aren't anything like police. Some of these people have become drunk with power and overwhelmed by their own ego's simply because they've been allowed to dress in a form of tactical combat gear and wear a side arm low slung on their hip....................just like John Wayne.

I'm actually quite suprised she wasn't pistol whipped with one of those shiny new pistols they all carry around like Rambo.

heroin in its raw form is a tar like substance similar to hash in appearance.

no, it's further along in processing that raw opium. Google Black tar heroin. I shouldn't have used the term 'raw' heroin.

was heading to Canada to play bingo
    - Canadian bingo is so Canadian :)

spent 12 days locked up at the Winnipeg Remand Centre before further testing proved the liquid was not heroin after all.
    - I don't know how heavy is stream of things like that on this part of border, but 12 days confuse even me. Heroin substance test doesn't take so long time. I feel like cops were trying to make money.

Most of the Canadian border guards I encounter are fair and decent people. What went wrong in this situation is (and I hope) an anomaly.

incarcerating people costs money, not the other way around.

MY quick test would have been. "So Ma'am if you say it's oil then you won't mind me pouring some into your engine here eh?" then watch her reaction. Pretty sure if it was heroin she'd act a bit concerned about that. No expert but I'm sure engines won't run well with heroin in them. ;)
