The B.C. government is promising a $40 million investment in training and tax credits if Vancouver-based Seaspan wins one of two federal shipbuilding contracts.

    I will be at my 20 in two years, 30 year shipbuilding contract....would take me to 65 easy....think I just found my retirement plan.

    It's a good idea, but I think everyone expects that the bulk of the order ($25 billion for combat ships) will go to an eastern yard, so this is a way for BC to try and make sure it gets second place and the $8 billion for icebreakers and non-combat vessels.
