I can go and scope him out for you. I've had parrots for 25 years or so. Always wanted a Macaw, but if you're serious, I go the EHS regularally to excercise the cats and dogs. I can check him out. He might be a real cuddle birdie.
MY two favorite animals as pets, rats and birds. I know what you are thinking about rats though, always get the same response. They are very friendly and clean pets. They are also always doing weird and funny things. They love affection from anything like throwing them in the air and catching them to tickling them. They love and always are playing. Once you've had a rat for a pet, there is really no going back. They are just good pets.
Though I've always loved birds too, my aunt and her husband has three or four of them and they are just awesome. They have there own room that she lets them fly around in (when there home). Idk I've always found there chirps to be rather relaxing and the ones that can talk hilarious. The two ultimate pets.
I was in a pet shop once checking out a minah bird, and the bird just looks at me and goes "Fuck off." Not a big squawky one, just a nice quiet "Fuck off" in Brit accent. I lost it. I'm sure the rest of the people in the store were thinking "Psycho in Aisle 5."
In a pet shop, I leaned over the parrot enclosure and one of them got a hold of my winter coat draw-string (one with a metal ball at the end). It took me about 15 minutes to convince him (or her) to let me go.
I WANT that fucking parrot.
