Our prices have actually come down a couple of cents. By Victoria weekend of course they'll go right back up. But who cares, the world will have ended by then anyway.

I have absolutely no sympathy for the little jump in gas prices in the GTA. I was just in Montreal and prices are near $1.46. Wow a whole 6.5 cents. Jumps like that are a common occurance on the west coast!!

I wouldn't care as much if I could buy the VW Polo TDI or the Jaguar XK diesel in the states.

So a Golf diesel is no good? And a Merc or BMW diesel just wont do vs the Jag?

The Golf is Ok, but if I'm buying an eco car, I might as well buy an ECO car. Also, you just can't go wrong with a Jag.

You can't really call a Jag an eco car, can you? And you don't care about their poor reliability record?

Is there such a huge diff in mileage between the Polo and the Golf?

The Jag XK diesel will get 35+ mpg, and the Polo will approach 80. The Golf TDI will get over 50 mpg if one drives carefully. As for a Jag's reliability, I'm no more scared of it than a Merc's or BMW's reliability.

So does my 2007 Volvo S80 with the 312HP 3.2L V-6. It's amazing what happens when you keep a car in good maintenance.
