A Seattle teen volunteering in a Grade 3 classroom says she wanted to put treats together for the children for Easter, but was told she'd have to call the eggs "spring spheres."

What are we going to call the bunny? A rabid dog?

"We have a religion and religious accommodation policy, approved by the school board in 1983, stating that 'no religious belief or non-belief should be promoted by the school district or its employees, and none should be disparaged,'" the statement said

And that I agree with. But what do a cute bunny and a bunch of eggs have to do with religion? Also, what does a Christmas tree and presents have to do with religion?

EASTER EGGS AND CHRISTMAS is what I celebrate (well, eat and have an excuse to unwrap presents) and I like to keep it that way.
Jeesh, most of you don't even know what Ascension Day is... (fyi, it is 40 days after Easter, always a Thursday and it commemorates Jesus Christ's ascension into heaven.)

Watching Christians get their nuts in a wrap over an adopted pagan tradition.

    That's funny.

The Majority of Christian traditions and holidays are stolen form paganism, it doesn't make them any less meaningfull to those that practice them.
I'm sure as in my case the disgust is more due to the PC pandering to other religions and beliefs than anything else.

and none should be disparaged-from the article, I would say that demanding they call Easter Eggs "Spring Spheres" is disparaging to Christianity

Anybody with common sense would find theis stupid, regardless of religious beliefs. But if it gets you off to think that only Christians are complaining about PC BS.....

Only they are. I work with a plethora of people from other faiths, and none of them complain about Christian holidays being offensive - and they take their own religious holidays off work as needed. And they get pretty pissed off about the PC crowd attributing these thoughts and morals to them without their consent.

That was my first observation too! Shouldn't it be 'Spring ovoids'?

Eggs are just the means whereby the 'Politically Correct' crowd try to influence the majority into thinking they are oppressing minorities.

    I like #1 here:

    http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.p ... %20correct

I tend to be politically correct as a barbed wire enema.

Most of the dumbasses that come up with this ridiculous shit are white, self labelled 'progressives'. I don't know who they are talking to, that are supposedly offended by our cultural celebrations/holidays/traditions, and are feeling excluded....except for them, and I think the root of their exclusion issues goes back to their time in primary school and not being picked for teams during recess

Agreed, I don't think it's other religious groups so much as it is the atheist crowd out there that for some reason feel they're being pressured to conform to some sort of hidden religious agenda. They are mostly white, progressive, "everyone must be equal" types.

Funny though, they don't complain about having the days off work for these holidays.
